Halloween: Should we be afraid of the bailiff?

fear of the bailiff

TRICK OR TREAT!

On the night of October 31st, rest assured, no bailiff will come knocking at your door. Does the worrying image of the judicial officer conveyed by popular imagery, often a sinister and heartless character, have its place in the frightening imagination of Halloween?
In other words ... should we be afraid of the bailiff?

The image of the bailiff, who would take malicious pleasure in removing furniture from people in need, or who would gladly evict families on the threshold of winter... is simply a legend... but a legend that has a hard life!
As the arm of civil justice, the bailiff is, in his most famous and least loved role (seizures, etc...), only the executor of the decisions made by judges. And if the bailiff intervenes, it is precisely because the judicial decision has not been enforced spontaneously.

Consequently, the bailiff never intervenes without reason.

Then why is he dragging that picture? Quite simply because, when no dialogue is possible, the judicial officer will not hesitate to use all means to ensure that the court decision is enforced.

And yet... the judicial officer is a man (and in almost 50% of the cases a woman) of dialogue! So, above all: make yourself known. Contact the bailiff to find an arrangement. You can ask for a schedule to be put in place to adapt to your ability to repay. Beware, this is not a right! But the bailiff will be able to study your repayment capacity with you and explain to the creditor that a schedule must be agreed.

So, if the bailiff comes knocking at your door, even if you are not obliged to give him sweets, think that he is there to find a solution to your problem and that by talking to him, you are helping yourself. No one can do this for you.
